S & S High School
Programs under which high school students can earn college credit
- Advanced Placement Programs
S&S High school offers a variety of AP and Pre-AP classes. These classes
are designed to prepare students to take the AP exams. AP exams are available
in every core subject and all students are eligible to take AP exams. In
order to receive college credit for a core subject, a student must take
an AP exam in that subject and earn a certain score on the exam. The score
can vary depending on what college the student is planning on attending.
If a student takes an AP exam and scores high enough to receive college
credit, the college will award the credit.
- Dual credit Programs
Currently S&S High School offers 4 classes on the high school campus
that students can take and earn both high school credit and college credit
from Grayson County College. These classes are on the S&S campus and
are offered during a regular school day. There are other college classes
offered at Grayson County College that students can take on their own and
receive high school credit. Any student considering taking college courses
at Grayson County College and receiving high school credit will need to
meet with Ms. Gracy to make sure of all the requirements.
- Tech Prep Programs
S&S High School has an articulated agreement with the Texoma Tech Prep
Program at Grayson County College. This agreement allows S&S High School
students to receive college credit for some high school classes. To receive
college credit, a student must enroll in a tech prep program at Grayson
County College and submit a petition for articulated credit. Any student
feeling that he/she might be interested in learning more about the tech
prep program will need to meet with Ms. Gracy.
